ROCKSTAR BAGELS – Austin, TX

The perfect way to start ANY DAY!! Austin is one of those places that have soooo many food places you don’t know where to start ??? so glad I chose this place out of all the delicious options – bc you can never go wrong with a bagel on the go ?? I ordered Fabio (who now has a vegan ? ig @veganandblk ?) the veggie everything bagel – with hummus and lots of veg and I got a plain bagel toasted with some vegan blackberry cream cheese ? sooooo good!!!! thank you @rockstar bagels for having us! I hope everyone is spending their Sunday’s exactly how they want to – I know we are ?

VEGAN ROAD TRIP – SAN DIEGO ?

my my myyyy – San Diego what a trip! thank you all for your amazing suggestions of what to eat (sure beats yelp!) Nosa and I had quite a time here – so much to do, so little time!!!! we had to fit in a visit to @plantpower for breakfast & @thevillagesd for dinner last night! gosh such amazing food! here’s what’s pictured: @plantpowerfastfood sausage breakfast sandwich and chick’n n waffles sandwich with a hash brown of courseeeee! I love the concept of vegan fast food, reminds me that us vegans can have some fun too ?? if you keep swiping you’ll see @thevillagesd which is a Mexican and Japanese fusion vegan restaurant ??? not going to lie at first I thought that was wild – but after getting a taste I’m completely sold! the best sushi ? I have had IN LIFE! here’s what’s pictured: tempura “crab roll” which had tofu crab ? and was fried spicy goodness!!!! the creamy roll which had a carrot ? & vegan cream cheese base and somehow tasted like the perfect classic roll! San Diego you did not disappoint ? – thank you all for your well wishes!!!! I smile ear to ear with each dm and comment, you are all so kind and I’m so happy to share my journey with you all. so #blkandveganismobile and headed to El Paso, TX! ? let’s see what’s there for a vegan gal!

WELCOME TO SOULEY VEGAN ? Oakland CA ?

A day away in the Bay!!! hahaha see how that rhymed?!?! My first time @souleyvegan thanks to my bestie Chika! She knows I’m moving soon so surprised me at whisked me away to a vegan spot (thank God for amazing friends – who aren’t vegan but are still down to try and enjoy!!!) Also whenever we’re together we literally eat nonstop ?? so we ordered a lot from the menu and had ourselves a little picnic ? Here’s what’s pictured: I got to combination plate – fried tofu ( delish) , greens, yams, mac and cheese & cornbread (yes this was one meal ?) – Chika got the hot link sandwich which looked amazing!!!!!!!!!! and as a unit we ordered appetizers (of course!!) and ordered the jalapeño poppers SOOOOO MUTHA – CLUCKIN GOOD & some garlic fries – overall the star for me was the jalapeño poppers, fried tofu and Mac and cheese!!! what’s your fav from this place?? the menu looked so good!!

LAPPERT’S ICE CREAM ?- Sausalito, CA

I scream you scream we all scream for…….. you get the gist ? Finding some bomb ice cream is the #strugglebus for a vegan! Let’s be real sorbet can only last us so long ? but stepping into Lapperts I got the best creamy coconut ice cream + mango sorbet!! My sister grabbed the mango sorbet and rainbow ice cream (vegan)! The ice cream was delish but I’m curious – does anyone know of a vegan ice cream bar in the Bay Area? Feel free to comment below bc I would love to visit! Anyways enjoy your Monday’s vegan lovas! I’m in the lab today testing out some recipes that I just can’t wait to share! ? (P.S. after thought I asked the employees if the waffle cone was vegan and they were unsure, so for safety I didn’t eat the cone – do what you will with that info!)

THE VEGAN MOB – OAKLAND CA ?

Vegan food is stereotyped to be “prim and proper” but soul food is luscious and overloaded!!! When you put these two things together you get a beautiful sight! Thanks @officialveganmob for some delish vegan soul food! What’s pictured: two mob plates – one with the “brisket” the other with fried chick’n but both with smackaroni, yams and greens (my sister and I have the same taste buds) & also a delish plantain from @kendejah_ca – it was sooooo good while we were waiting for our soul food to be complete! Also not pictured ( bc my dad scarfed it down – LAWD) was the shrimp and steak barbequito – mind you it was his idea to grab the food yesterday so I guess I can’t complain ? alright – everyone enjoy your Sunday’s!!! sending you peace and joy over your new week! ?

GREEN LOTUS VEGAN TAKEOUT

Gosh!! As stated in my stories – today was a super chill day! I didn’t care to do anything but lounge around the house in my mumu ? (anyone else ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️) which meant it was a day for takeout @ the blkandvegan residence ??? I’ve seen @greenlotusrestaurant while visiting my all-time fav Ethiopian restaurant @walia_ethiopian and had to give vegan Vietnamese food a try!! I ordered the BBQ “pork” rolls with their signature sauce, their lemongrass “fish” dish, a side of rice and some Japanese matcha tea with almond milk ? don’t ask me exactly what the supplements are bc I don’t know ? but I do know it was DELISH! (also I’m always a little weary of vegan fish dishes but this one hit the spot) self care day #complete def recommend this place!! –

VEGAN DONUTS & GELATO – San Jose

By now you guys all know I have a MASSIVE sweet tooth – I simply could not wait until @vegandonutgelato San Jose location opened up!! I had to get that preorder ASAP!! Say hello to my babies this am ? this is one of the first places I went that convinced me that being vegan doesn’t mean you have to give up your guilty pleasures!! #blessed –

BACK-A-YARD JERK TOFU PLATE ?

Now I gotta be honest I was a little skeptical about this jerk tofu (gotta be honest) but lemme tell ya – THIS DISH HIT THE SPOT!!! I used to eat @backayardgrill pre-vegan life but never knew their rice and beans as well as their greens were all made with vegetable stock ???? and no animals were used in the issuing of those ? flavors. and please let’s not forget the plantains!!! this was an amazing way to end my black owned feature week (but please don’t think it stops here) and trust me when you get this dish you won’t regret it at all!!!!

COCONUTS CARIBBEAN RESTAURANT ??

Y’all may be tired of the Caribbean vibes but ya girl @blkandvegan just can’t stay away from the flava ????? LITERALLY the best outing I’ve had since COVID began ( I mean do y’all hear the music!!) I got to sit outside, have a cocktail and for once feel normal amongst all the craziness. @coconutspaloalto has the best crew and the nicest service – oh and have you seen the pics?!?!?? THE FOOD IS AMAZING! Def recommend!!! 12/10, black owned and #blkandveganapproved. Here’s what’s pictured: coconut curry tofu, itel stew (pumpkin stew SO GOOD), festival (corn fritters), greens ? & let’s not forget the dranks ?? thank you @coconuts I will def be coming back!

I truly want to highlight the service – these guys made me feel like a million bucks and had me smiling ear to ear all service! (you can order takeout and eat outside on the patio) don’t hesitate to chop it up with them bc they will keep you on your toes ?

DOLE WHIP ?

This week I’m spending time with my bestie @chikarzz !!! Which involves lots of treats and a lot of eating out ?So with this heat wave coming through the bay – it was the perfect time for #dairyfree dole whip!!! SO REFRESHING!!! For those of you who don’t know what dole whip is – basically a pineapple sorbet! You can find dole whip literally anywhere so type it in your yelp and allow the cool pineapple-y sensation take ova!!! Love you guys – hope you can find pockets of joy in your day ??
